The Govt. College (Auto.), Angul is established in Head Quarters of Angul District in 1957. It is located in Hakimpada which is only 1.5 K.Ms away from Angul bus stand. The College imparts Higher Education to the Students in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Post graduation study facility is available in Industrial Economics, Political Science and Oriya, Govt. Junior College also is running in the same building imparting education in Arts, Science and Commerce to +2 Students. Both the Colleges are running under the administration of the same Principal. The basic objective of the institution is to impart Higher Education to the students and to foster their academic ability for competition both at national and international level.
