Objective/ Purpose of the Public Authority:
The main objective is to ensure systematic & planned Development of the area coming under Talcher -Angul-Meramandali Development Authority (TAMDA) Angul.
Mission/ Vision Statement of the Public Authority:
To check un-planned & unsystematic Development of this area.
Brief History of the Public Authority and Context of its Formation:
During 1983, one Improvement Trust was constituted comprising 231Revenue villages, namely Talcher-Angul-Meramandali Improvement Trust (TAMRIT) .Subsequently during the year 1995, the said Improvement Trust was converted to Talcher-Angul-Meramandali Development Authority (TAMDA) Angul comprising with same area.
Duties of the Public Authority: Preparation of CDP & Zonal Development Plan and its implementation.
Main Activities/ Functions of the Public Authority:
The main activities to under take works pertaining to Construction of Housing Colony, Shopping Complex, Industrial Estate and to provide public amenities also undertake for Improvement & clearance of slums and re-development programmes in a planned manner.
List of Services being provided by the Public Authority with a brief write-up on them:
a) Construction housing colony comprising 238 nos. of houses in different categories in Angul Town.b) Plotted Development Scheme comprising 213 nos of plots in different categories near Working Women's Hostel near P.T.C in Angul Town.c) Shopping Complexes comprising 69 shops at Banarpal in the Dist. of Angul.d) Construction of shopping complex comprising 58 nos shops at Hatatota, Talcher, Dist. Angul.e) Construction of 75 nos. of Kiosks (Small 8 nos) in different areas within Angul Municipality, Angul.f) Construction of 172 nos. of shops namely Kalinga Market Complex, Near Harimohari Chhak, Angul.
Organizational Structure Diagram at various levels namely State, Directorate, Region, District, Block etc. (whichever is applicable):
State Odisha under H&U.D. Deptt. constituted O.D.A. Act, 1992 & Rules 1983 District level.
Expectation of the Public Authority from the Public for Enhancing its Effectiveness and Efficiency:
Public co-operation is basically required to take prior permission for construction of their houses & other Infrastructural Development this Authority and also to abide by the Rules and regulations of TAMDA there on while constructing the same so that the area under TAMDA shall be developed in planned manner.
Arrangements and methods made for Seeking Public Participation/ Contribution:
During preparation of C.D.P, Public seminars have been organized and to know the rule and regulations of TAMDA. Advertisements were undertaken through Cable T.V and though the news paper for wide public awareness.
