Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
Implementation of Rengaii Right Bank Canal from RD 74.00KM to 79.00KM including its all distribution system to provide irrigation to the agricultural land in Dhenkanal Sadar block and Gondia block of Dhenkanal district.
Mission/ Vision:
To provide 15,498 ha of Irrigation both in Khariff & Rabi season through flow water system (under gravity) in Dhenkanal District by the construction of Rengali Right Bank Canal from RD 74.C0KM to RD 79.00KM including its distribution system by 2012-13.
Brief History and back ground for its establishment:
The office of the Rengali Right Canal Division, Dhenkanal was created on 22.10.1973 and renamed as, Rengali Right Canal Division No.II with effect from 27.2.1997. Initially this Division was created for survey & investigation of Right Bank Canal. Later on, after renaming as Rengali Right Canal Division No.II, it has been entrusted with execution of Rengali Right Canal system.
Allocation of Business:
In the above administrative setup the business of the implementation is allocated in the following manner.
Inspection, supervision and monitoring of the construction works of Rengali Right Bank Canal from RD 74.00KM to 79.00KM with distribution system of Gadasila, Sadasivpur, Asanbahali and Gondia Branch Canal. For execution of project work the Executive Engineer is being assisted by four nos. of Assistant Engineers, heading their respective Sub-Divisions and pertaining their business as per the codes for implementation of project work. Besides the fieldwork, the Executive Engineer is having its official business by Establishment Branch, Estimating Branch and Accounts Branch headed by the Head Clerk, Estimator and Divisional Account respectively.
Duties to be Performed to Achieve the Mission:
The major duties to be performed to achieve the mission involve survey & investigation, acquisition of land, design and drawing of different canal systems with its structures, preparation of estimate, sanction of estimate, tender process, drawl of agreements, execution & supervision of canal works to achieve irrigation potential of 15498.00 Ha of cultivable land in the District of Dhenkanal under Rengali Right Canal system.
Details of Services Rendered:
Implementation of the project work in order to provide irrigation facilities to the area coming under the command area of Rengali Right Bank Canal from RD 74.00KM to 79.00KM with distribution system where the construction work is under progress in the district of Dhenkanal.
