Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

1. History & Background of Its Establishment:

  The Balasore ( R&B) Division Balasore is functioning under works department for construction, development and maintenance of extensive road network on which the pace and pattern of development rests. Road communication is as key element for economic development of Balasore District. The focus, therefore, is to improve the living condition for rural people by providing all whether road communication to inaccessible areas and upgrading the existing road network. The development of Agriculture, small scale and cottage industries, extension of public distribution networks, improving access to health care and education, to a large extent, depend upon stable all weather roads communication. Above all, good roads improve the accessibility of the rural areas to markets and facilitate better delivery road linkages to rural settlements as per the Government of Orissa norms and guidelines.
  Balasore (R&B) Division under Works Deptt., is concerned the Executive Engineer as the Division in charge. There are 5 No of Sub- Divisional Officer in the rank of Assistant Engineer are directly under the control of the Executive Engineer. The details of Sub- Divisions and section under this division are listed below.

2.Working Hours Both for Office & Public:

10.00A.M to 5.00 P.M with half an hour lunch break from 1.30 PM. To 2.00 PM.

3. Public Interaction :

  Public interaction usually made at the time of selection of site for constructions of new Building works, Road works and R.O.B works.

4.Grievance Redress Mechanism

  The grievance period for this office is from 12.30 PM to 4.00 P.M of all working days. (Except Wednesday).
