Other Useful Information

College Session And Admission:

1. The academic session of Junabhadra College like other colleges of Orissa begins in the month of June every year and ends in the month of May next. The admission into the 1StYear Degree classes begins after the publication of the result of the CHSE, Orissa or equivalent examinations as conducted by various other Boards of the Country.

2. The students are selected for admission into various pass and Hounous  courses through their academic record (marks) secured in the last qualifying examination.

3. After receiving the application forms the Admission Committee makes a list of the total number of candidates applied for taking their admission into different branches. A register is prepared for each branch. A merit list as per the marks of the last qualifying examination is prepared. Accordingly Intimation cards are sent to the meritorious students. After the completion of the admission a counseling session by way of interview is held to select students into different Honours subjects. 20% of total number of seats of each course is categorically reserved for students belonging to S.C. and S.T. candidates. Admission policy of the State is strictly adhered to.

4. The college issues identity cards to newly admitted students at the time of admission. The students are advised to keep identity card always with them and produce in case of demand. This entitles them to all the privileges of the college students. The renewal of identity cards to 2nd and 3rd University students is made within four weeks from ~the date of the reopening of the college after summer vacation, after they have taken readmission in their respective higher classes. In case the Identity Card is lost, or damaged a duplicate I. Card is issued on payment of Rs 10/-(ten) only. They are to apply the principal with a passport size Photograph.

5. Every student of the college is ipso facto a registered student of Utkal University. On admission into college student pays Rs.511- for Registration of his name into Utkal University and the University issues a Register Number to the student for further use till he completes his Final Year Degree Examination.

6. However, soon after the admission in the beginning of the academic session, the Principal convenes a meeting of the fresher along with the faculty to acquaint those new entrants with the rules and regulations of the college and there on the tentative dates of examinations, namely, Test Examination and Annual Degree Examinations are intimated to the students.      

Admission Forms - Application forms and other relating papers for admission to different classes can be had from the College office during working hours on payments of Rs. 50/-in cash or by registered post by remitting Rs75/- through MO. along with a written request for the form accompanied by a self addressed envelop of 20" x 10" size. Interested candidates can also download the form from the web site of the College namely:jbcolleg.net and they are to send a B.D/Crossed Postal Order in favour of the principal J B College, Bitana payable at SBI, Jajpur/Pritipur post office .All such applications must reach the College within 15 days of declaration of the result of the Qualifying Examination. In case of supplementary Examination only ten days time is allowed for the purpose.

     If a candidate desires of being considered for admission into the Arts/Science or Commerce faculties at the same time he needs to submit separate application form for each faculty, application received after the due date shall be summarily rejected.

Reopens - The College reopens after summer vacation. All the 1st year class shall Commence after admission. Other classes shall begin after the college reopens.

Documents to be submitted with the application:

a) Cash receipt in support of the purchase of application form.
b)
An attested true copy of the S.L.C/C.L.C. from the Institution last attended.
c)
An attested true copy of the Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of Institution last attended.
d)
An attested true copy of the computerised mark sheet of the qualifying examination;
e)
An attested true copy of the Caste Certificate if the candidate requires a sit from the reserved category.
f)
The index card bearing full postal address of the applicant affixing a postal stamp of Rs5/-
g)
Three attested copies of recent pass-Port size photographs.
h)
Two self addressed un-stampped envelopes of size (9" x 4")
I)
physically handicapped candidates are to attach a true copy of the medical certificate issued by the C.D.M.O.
j)
An attested copy of N.C.C. Certificates if any.
k)
President's Scout/Guild certificates if any.
I)
Sports certificate if represented the University/ CHSE or State level counter signed by the Director of sports.

     All documents should be sent in an envelope through registered post addressed to the Principal, Junabhadra College, Bitana, P.O.- Pritipur, Dist: Jajpur, Pin-755013 or it may be handed over to the Prof-in-Charge of Admission in the college office and obtain the Index card. This Index No. should be quoted for all correspondence regarding admission.

     The index No of the applicants will be sent by ordinary post whose application form will be received by Regd. Post.They can also see it from the web site of the College.



     An application incomplete in any respect is liable to be rejected. No certificate for claiming weightage will be entertained after the last date of sub-mission of application.

Intimation for Admission - Intimation for admission will be sent by ordinary post and due notification will also be made by the Principal in the notice board of the College.

College Library:

     The library is another busy station of academic activity of the College. The college library remains open during the working days from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. with half an hour break at 1-30 P.M. The library remains closed on Sundays, authorized holidays and during annual stock verification.

2. Rules common to all borrowers of books:

(a) No books can be taken out of the library without the knowledge of the librarian and until it has been properly entered into the issue register.
(b)
The borrower has to examine the condition of the book before leaving the library counter. Otherwise incase of mutilation discovered later, presumption will be made against the borrower and the may be called upon to replace the book or pay the cost with fine.
c)
Books should be returned within the period allowed to the borrower.
(d)
All those who may happen to be inside the library are required to maintain strict discipline.
(e)
Different classes of borrowers shall borrow books from the central Library as per the following table

i. Members of the teaching staff - 20 books.
ii.
Librarian - 03 books.
iii
. Ministerial staff - 03 books.
iv.
Honours students - 03 books.
v.
  Other students - 02 books.

(f) Any book lost, damaged or defaced by a borrower must be replaced by him with fine as decided by the Principal. The cost appropriated is usually three times of the cost of the book.

3. Reading room facility : The college provides reading room facilities to students besides the normal scope of borrowing books from the central library. The Reading room is a spacious room annexed to the central library. The Reading room opens when the central library opens and closes at the same time when the central library closes. One employee of the library is specially recruited to manage the Reading room activity. A register is maintained there for the temporary issue of books to the students. The students return the book before leaving the Reading room. In no case books can be taken out of the Reading room by the students. Strict silence and discipline is maintained in the library.
